Keeping an eye on Bird's Rock

Interesting facts about seals:
Did you know that seals don't properly rest till they are completely dry? Low tide is therefore an important time for seals to rest as there are more rocks exposed to choose from. But the matter is often more complicated than simply choosing a spot to rest, especially for a male during the mating season. This is because males will fight over the better spots. The stronger males will get the higher spots that stay dry longest!

We are looking forward to seeing a hive of bird activity on the ledges the coming breeding season (March to June 2007) so keep an eye out for new footage on this page.
