Conservation groups join forces again at Ceredigion's second biodiversity week.

Different conservation organizations joined forces at the Aberystwyth Agricultural show to raise awareness about water habitats and the creatures that rely on them: from water voles and sea lampreys to birds, otters and dolphins. Our slogan:

Application for oil exploration license is being assessed

Over the last year and a half the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has been working on opening the 24th round of offshore oil and gas licensing in the Irish Sea.

The Appropriate Assessment (AA) document on the 24th Round was released in January 2007, but following comment received on the draft AA, the blocks near Cardigan Bay (as well as those in the Morray Firth) have been excluded from this document. The Appropriate Assessment for these blocks will be carried out separately at a later date.

Code of Conduct Gets Revamp
As the challenge of influencing boat behaviour at sea goes on.

Over the years, we have displayed the code at various venues and in a variety of formats, such as signs at launch points, tide table booklets, and boat user guides. During the last year, we felt it was time to take a completely fresh look at how we communicate the important messages of the code to skippers and boat users.
